  • Wednesday, July 30, 2025
The spotlight is ready, the stage is set and anticipation is high for Chattanooga’s Sixth Annual Morning Pointe Seniors Got Talent, taking place Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Silverdale Center Creekside Theatre, 7236 Bonny Oaks Drive.

From soulful singers to toe-tapping musicians, 12 senior performers—each age 60 or better—will take the stage to compete for $1,000 and wow the crowd. With a celebrity panel of judges that includes an award-winning radio host, a professional choreographer, a gospel legend and a symphony conductor, this year’s showcase is shaping up to be the most unforgettable one yet, officials said.

Tickets are selling fast for the July 31 show, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most memorable yet.
“These contestants have put a lot of thought into how to make this a very entertaining show for everyone and the judges. We’re working with the Silverdale tech crew, making sure the lighting and atmosphere are great so everyone can enjoy not only the heartfelt acts but this great production,” said Miranda Perez, Morning Pointe Foundation executive director.

And now, they’re ready to show Chattanooga what they’ve got.

Acts scheduled are:
• The Harrison Grass – bluegrass band
• Dale Guy – singer/songwriter
• Dennis Massengale – singer/guitarist
• Sherry Hammett – singer
• Gary Ball – singer/guitarist
• Susan Clark – singer/songwriter
• Jeffrey Wells – singer
• Steve Day – guitarist
• Debra McCraw – singer
• Kim Binkley – pianist
• Tina Fielder-Gibson – singer
• Thunder Cilkosz – singer/guitarist

Tickets for Seniors Got Talent are $10 and are available at silverdaleba.thundertix.com. Seating is general admission, and the show almost sold out for the last two years.

In addition to the $1,000 grand prize, $500 will go to second place and $250 to the third-place winner. Audience members will also be able to vote for the People’s Choice Award winner for $1 per vote.

All proceeds from votes, ticket sales and sponsorships will go to the Morning Pointe Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, to support nursing and other college scholarships. The Morning Pointe Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Morning Pointe Senior Living and was founded in 2014 by Greg A. Vital and J. Franklin Farrow to provide caregiver support programs, sponsor educational awareness events and fund scholarships to advance the care of seniors throughout the Southeast.

Gino D, radio personality with Hits 96 in Chattanooga, will serve as emcee for the show for the second year. Judges are Melissa “Mo” Wagner, award-winning radio personality with US 101 FM; Danielle Farrell, author, dancer and director of Raw Art Dance & Entertainment Dance Academy; Steve Darmody, award-winning Christian recording artist; and Ismael Sandoval, associate conductor of the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera. They will judge the contestants on technical ability, stage presence and professionalism, appearance/costume, difficulty of act and originality/creativity.

Morning Pointe’s Seniors Got Talent is building on a 16-year tradition that began at Morning Pointe of Hixson. Morning Pointe also sponsors Seniors Got Talent competitions in Knoxville and Franklin, Tennessee, as well as Lexington, Kentucky.
