Alice Eva Walker
Alice Eva Walker, of Gann’s-Middle Valley, died on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at home with family, after a long illness.
Alice was born in Chattanooga, on Jan. 29, 1945, to Arnold and Luna Gann. Alice attended Gann’s Middle Valley Elementary and was a Hixson High School graduate of 1963. After high school, Alice attended Lee College (now Lee University), receiving an associate’s degree in early childhood education.
After college, Alice worked at Kingston Pencil Factory. Alice was a homemaker and cared for children in her home for several years. She also worked for Kids and Fun in Gann’s-Middle Valley.
In Alice’s younger years, she played softball and basketball. She attended Dividing Ridge Church of God and later attended East Daisy Church of God. Alice also volunteered and helped with Chapter 203 Vietnam Veterans of America honor guard of which her husband, Wayne, was a member.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Wayne L. Walker, parents, Arnold and Luna Gann, in-laws, Homer and Laura Bell Walker, brother, Rayburn Gann, sister, Nila Hallman, brother-in-law, Monty Hallman, niece, Amber Hallman and great niece, Kaci Hallman.
Alice is survived by her only child and ultra bad a**, Jason Dewayne Walker and brother, Ronld Gann. She is also survived by several cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews.
We are grateful to the staff at Erlanger Hospital MICU, WW3 and Hospice of Chattanooga.
