Nickelodeon's popular Blue's Clues Live! is coming to Chattanooga's Memorial Auditorium.

Tickets go on sale Saturday, Dec. 16, at 10 a.m. at Memorial Auditorium box office for the show that was sold out in a number of cities including Chicago, Pittsburgh and Indianapolis.

There will be six shows - Friday, Feb. 9, 2001 at 7 p.m. Saturday, February 10 at 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, February 11 at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

It is described as "the stage presentation for preschoolers that has revolutionized kids’ theater."

It is returning to the stage in January, 2001. Based on Nickelodeon’s hit preschool series “Blue’s Clues,” the BLUE’S CLUES LIVE tour is scheduled to perform in 40 markets throughout the United States and Canada, including return engagements in New York City, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, St. Louis, Chicago and Detroit.

Presented by Nickelodeon and SFX Family Entertainment, BLUE’S CLUES LIVE! is an interactive theatrical production based on the television series that changed the way kids watch TV. This live theatrical presentation invites preschoolers and their parents to think, imagine and be an active part of the show as they embark on a search for clues to “the most spectacular place.”

“More than 800,000 family members enjoyed this breakthrough interactive live stage experience,” says Jonathan Hochwald, the show’s Executive Producer and President of SFX Family Entertainment. “We can’t wait to bring Blue’s Clues Live! to the rest of North America in 2001, and have exciting plans for the future.”

The sold out runs in 2000 include Chicago, Pittsburgh, Detroit, New York City, Indianapolis, Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa and Louisville. In April, 100,000 people experienced the future of children’s live entertainment when Blue and Steve entertained families at New York City’s legendary Radio City Music Hall.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled that the stage show has lived up to the incredible standards of the Blue’s Clues franchise,” says Stuart Rosenstein, co-executive producer and Vice President of Nickelodeon Theatricals. “Blue’s Clues Live has raised the level of quality for children’s live entertainment and successfully expanded an important brand for Nickelodeon. We see BLUES CLUES LIVE! becoming an annual franchise in the live family theatrical world.”
In BLUE’S CLUES LIVE!, families are introduced to the wonders of theater from the moment they enter the venue as Blue’s Clues, which has inspired a cultural phenomenon among the preschool set, explodes into life onstage.

BLUE’S CLUES LIVE! features well-loved and familiar characters from the series including Blue, Steve and all of their friends…. Mail Box, Slippery Soap, Tickety Tock, Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper…along with some brand new characters created just for the live show.

“The positive response from children and parents was amazing,” says Tim Orchard of SFX - Chicago. “We are still getting requests for the show eight months later. We can’t wait to have the show back.”

BLUE’S CLUES LIVE! creators Angela C. Santomero and Gip Hoppe are first-time collaborators on the most interactive kids’ theater presentation to date. Santomero is currently the Co-Executive Producer and Head Writer for the television show. Hoppe wrote and directed the Broadway play Jackie: An American Life. He is a founding member and Co-Artistic Director of the Wellfleet Harbor Actor’s Theatre.

BLUE’S CLUES LIVE! features set designs by David Gallo, recently represented on Broadway by You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, The Lion In Winter and Little Me. He also was production designer for Jackie: An American Life. Costume Designer Gregg Barnes’ Broadway credits include: Side Show, Rugrats-A Live Adventure and the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Show and Madison Square Garden’s The Wizard of Oz. Traci Paige Johnson, Co-Creator, Co-Executive Producer and Head Designer of the TV series, is the visual consultant for the tour. Yvette Helin, whose credits include significant contributions to The Lion King on Broadway, The Wizard of Oz National Tour and Toy Story on Ice, is the puppet designer. Mike Rubin and Nick Balaban of Murmur Music, composers of the “Blue’s Clues” television series’ music, collaborate on the original score of BLUE’S CLUES LIVE!

“Blue’s Clues” airs Monday through Friday at 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. (ET) on Nick Jr., Nickelodeon’s programming block designed for preschoolers. The show was created by Johnson, Todd Kessler and Santomero. Currently, “Blue’s Clues” is the most watched preschool show on television with more than 7 million weekly viewers. On September 16, 2000, “Blue’s Clues” premiered on “Nick Jr. on CBS,” CBS’s new Saturday morning block of children’s programming. The show earned the greatest time period improvement for the network, scoring a 203 percent increase over last year’s average.

All seats are reserved at $25, $20, $15 and $10.
