Frank O. Simmons
Frank O. Simmons went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 4, 2025.
Frank was born in Sevierville, Tn., on Jan. 4, 1933. He graduated from Central High School, Class of 1951. He voluntarily served his country in the U.S. Navy where he was a radioman on the USS Oriskany (the Big "0").
Frank retired from AT&T (formerly Southern Bell) after 30 years of service. He was a longtime member of Fairview Baptist Church and was an ordained deacon. A lifelong Mason, he was also a Shriner with the Alhambra Shrine and served in their Legion of Honor.
Frank is survived by his children, Tracie Blevins (Ken) and Andy Simmons (Amanda). He had two granddaughters: Wendi Wolfe (Brian) and Amber Simmons. He was blessed with four great-grandchildren: Turner Wolfe (Lexi), Connor Wolfe, Lily Wolfe and Aiden Bellinger. He is survived by his former wife, Jerrie (Burch) Chadwick Simmons.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Frank Simmons and Ruth (South) Simmons, his first wife Rosell (Fordham) Simmons (the mother of his children) and his second wife, Joyce Simmons.
Frank received loving care from those at Great Oaks Senior Living in Monroe, Ga., where he resided.
The family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 8, and a memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor can be made to the American Cancer Society.
