Tommy Ronald Fryar, Sr., 79, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2025, in a local hospital.

A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Mr. Fryar was owner and operator of Fryar’s Garage for over 20 years.

He loved nature as well as game hunting and was especially a lover of dogs. He comes from a long family heritage of stockcar racing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rathmel and Virginia Fryar; his son, Tommy Fryar Jr; sister, Sara Land; and two brothers, Rathmel Fryar Jr. and Jimmy Fryar.

Mr. Fryar is survived by his wife of 60 years, Brenda Coley Fryar; daughter, Kelli (Crosby) Jones; son, Bryan (Lindsay) Fryar, all of Chattanooga; grandsons, Will (Barinya) Brown, Los Angeles, and Coley Fryar, US Navy stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii; three great-grandchildren, Madison Brown, Ben Fryar, and Delilah Fryar; many nieces and nephews.

The family will have a visitation on Thursday, Aug. 7, from 5-8 p.m. at Heirtage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road.
