It's Montana versus James Madison in next Friday's national NCAA 1-A title game at Finley Stadium.

Montana will be making their fifth national championship appearance after knocking off Sam Houston State 34-13 at home on Saturday afternoon.

James Madison defeated William & Mary 48-24 on Friday night to advance for the first time ever.

The 8 p.m. game will be nationally televised on ESPN2.

Montana drew over 23,000 fans for their game Saturday. Craig Ochs threw for 204 yards and three touchdowns to lead Montana to the win at Washington-Grizzly Stadium in Missoula.

The Grizzlies won national championships in 1995 and 2001.

The teams are set to arrive in Chattanooga on Tuesday.

James Madison officials said 500 tickets have been reserved for JMU students and are available on a first come basis. James Madison University is located in Harrisonburg, Va.

JMU will receive an initial ticket allotment of 3,760.

Carlson Wagonlit Travel has arranged four package options for JMU fans to Chattanooga for $535 per person.

On Friday, the James Madison Dukes jumped to a 21-0 lead after less than 11 minutes, fell behind early in the second half, and then controlled play the rest of the way in posting its 12th victory of the season and third-straight postseason road win.

JMU scored 27 straight points to lead 48-26 after falling behind and became the first team to win three straight road games in Division I-AA post-season.

The Dukes needed only two plays to regain the lead after William & Mary moved in front by scoring on the opening series of the second half, the fifth straight possession during which the Tribe posted points.

Sophomore tailback Maurice Fenner (Virginia Beach, Va./Bayside) ran for 29 yards on JMU’s next play, and sophomore quarterback Justin Rascati (Gainesville, Fla./Buchholz) hit sophomore wide receiver D.D. Boxley (King George, Va./King George) with a 34-yard touchdown pass on the following play.

A fumble recovery by junior safety Bruce Johnson (Lithonia, Ga./Lakeside) gave the JMU the ball back with 9:33 left in the third quarter, and the Dukes went 48 yards in 11 plays with senior fullback Chris Iorio (Leetsdale, Pa./Quaker Valley) scoring on a four-yard run for a 34-26 JMU lead with 4:24 left in the third period.

William & Mary fumbled again on its next play with junior tackle Demetrius Shambley (Norfolk, Va./Norview) recovering at the Tribe 18. The Dukes scored in three plays with Rascati hitting red-shirt freshman Antoinne Bolton (Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes) with a 13-yard touchdown pass for a 41-26 lead at the 2:45 mark of the third quarter.

JMU held William & Mary to a three-plays-and-punt series – its first of the game – on the next possession and drove 58 yards in 15 plays to raise the margin to 48-26 with 8:01 left in the game. Sophomore tailback Alvin Banks’ (Hampton, Va./Hampton) one-yard run capped the drive that consumed 8:36 of clock time.

Rascati hit on 11 of 14 passes for 143 yards and three touchdowns, and Fenner ran 22 times for 117 yards, including 106 yards during the final half.

JMU had 350 total and took advantage of five William & Mary turnovers.

JMU scored on the game’s first series, driving 73 yards in six plays with junior tailback Raymond Hines (Hyattsville, Md./High Point) covering the final 27 yards.

The Dukes increased the lead to 14-0 after recovering a fumbled punt at the end of their second series. Junior defensive end Isai Bradshaw (Cambridge, Mass./Cambridge Rindge & Latin) recovered the William & Mary fumble at the 25, and JMU scored in three plays. Justin Rascati hit junior tight end Casime Harris (Wilmington, Del./Thomas McKean) on a 19-yard touchdown pass to cap the drive with 6:08 left in the opening period.

The Dukes’ lead went to 21-0 on the ensuing William & Mary possession when junior cornerback Clint Kent (Macon, Ga./Westside) intercepted a Lang Campbell pass and returned it 69 yards for a touchdown at the 4:02 mark of the opening period.

William & Mary got its first points with 13:38 left in the second quarter on a 27-yard Greg Kuehn field goal, capping a 13-play, 65-yard drive.

The Tribe scored again on its next series to pull to within 21-10 with 6:20 left in the half. William & Mary went 68 yards in 10 plays with Campbell scoring from the two.

The Tribe scored for the third straight series after forcing a JMU punt to get to within 21-17 with 2:14 left in the half. Campbell hit Joe Nicolas with nine-yard touchdown pass to cap the seven-play, 60-yard march.

William & Mary scored for the fourth straight possession and got to within 21-20 when Kuehn kicked a 42-yard field goal as the first-half clock expired. The Tribe moved 34 yards in 40 seconds after a JMU punt and was aided by a 15-yard penalty on JMU for interfering with the reception of the punt.

William & Mary went in front 26-21 on its initial possession of the second half, driving 73 yards in seven plays with Campbell hitting Dominique Thompson with on a seven-yard touchdown pass with 11:37 left in the third quarter. The Tribe failed on a two-point conversion attempt.
