Sam Parrott, 84, of Chattanooga died on Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2004, at a local hospital.
He was born in Soddy-Daisy and spent the majority of his adult life as a resident of Chattanooga. He retired from the Hamilton County Highway Department. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, during which he served with the H330th Infantry Company. He received two Bronze Stars, two Purple Hearts and three other decorations.
He was preceded in death by parents, Jack and Eva Parrott; sisters, Elizabeth Manning, Lillian Smith, Louise Penney.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Betty H. Parrott; daughters, Donna Henderson, Mary Erwin, Shirley Nale, Alice Haynes, Yuonne Griffith; son, Jacky Parrott; grandsons, Logan Henderson, Wayne Nale, Bryan Nale, Steve Nale; granddaughters, Terrie Nale, Jeri Lynn Griffith, Kim Rock; great-grandson, Matthew Nale, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
