Greg Ellis Steps Down As Gordon Lee Football Coach

Greg Ellis has stepped down as head football coach at Gordon Lee, the Walker County Messenger reported.

Ellis will focus on administrative duties at the Chickamauga City Schools. He is parttime assistant principal for Chickamauga Elementary and Gordon Lee Middle School and will go to fulltime.

The three-sport letterman at Gordon Lee told the football team on Tuesday.

He was an assistant coach at Gordon Lee from 1989-1992, then coached at Lenoir City before returning as head coach at Gordon Lee in 1999.

His 2002 team finished 11-2.
