Rachel Lindsey Fridell Holder Carson, 92, lifelong resident of Chattanooga and recent resident of NHC Healthcare of Rossville, died peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, at a local hospital.
Ms. Carson, a member of Lake Hills Church of Christ also attended St. Elmo Church of Christ. Ms. Carson retired from American Lava Corporation in 1952. She also worked for Town & Country Restaurant.
She was preceded in death by two sons, George Marty Holder and David Craig Holder; parents, Bert and Nancy Fridell; two sisters, Mary Ellen Clevenger and husband, Ernest Clevenger Sr., Frances Dallas and husband, Russell Dallas; and one brother, Thornton Fridell and his wife, Ann Fridell.
She is survived by her two daughters, Elizabeth Bolton, of Rossville, and Mary Ann Arnett and husband, Boyce Arnett, of Searcy, Ar.; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel of Wilson Funeral Home on Cloud Springs Road in Fort Oglethorpe with Ms. Carson’s nephew, Minister Ernest Clevenger Jr., officiating. Burial will be at Chattanooga Memorial Park on Memorial Drive in Red Bank.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday and all day Thursday at the funeral home.
