e-KIDS Learning Center, Erlanger’s employee child care center, has earned its fifth consecutive Three Star Rating from the Tennessee Department of Human Services. Tennessee child care centers can earn one, two, or three-star ratings, with three being the highest.
e-KIDS earned its high rating through a scoring system based on an average of seven subscales including director qualifications, professional development, compliance history, parent/family involvement, ratio and group size, staff compensation, and program assessment.
The program assessment score was obtained during an annual on-site assessment at e-KIDS. The state assessors come to the preschool and randomly draw classrooms to spend the entire day with. This year the center scored 6.07 out of a possible 7.0 score, which is the highest score e-KIDS has ever obtained.
Officials stated, "The STAR quality program has been proven to have lasting positive effects for children. Research shows that children in better quality childcare are found to do better on cognitive and social/emotional outcomes that are very important for school success. These studies encourage the administrators at e-KIDS to continue to strive for the highest quality of care. We are dedicated to providing excellence for all of our Erlanger families and we are proud to represent Erlanger in the child care field."
