George French
George K. French, 73, of Chickamauga, died on Saturday, July 19, 2008 in a local hospital.
A native of Vivian, W.V., Mr. French had lived in the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas more than 25 years ago, and was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church.
He was retired from the U.S. Air Force with 21 years of service and was most recently employed with the Chickamauga-Chattanooga National Military Park.
Mr. French was a member of the V.F.W., the American Legion, Rossville Masonic Lodge #397 F&AM, Crawfish Spring Lodge #300 F&AM, and the Eastern Star #190.
His first wife, Barbara French, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Broome French; sons, Kenneth French of Cleveland, Tn., and Allen French of Ringgold; daughter, Helen French, Cleveland; sister, Janet and Sandra White, Helene, Ga.; brother, Jack French of Florida; stepsons, Jesse Broome, Nashville, Barry Broome, Chickamauga, and Chris Broome, Spring City, Tn.; two grandchildren, one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Rev. Hoyt Williams & Rev. Bill Casteel officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors. Masonic Rites will also be given.
