Body Found In Conasauga River May Be That Of Missing Teen

  • Sunday, March 22, 2009

A body of a young male found in the Conasauga River on Saturday may be that of missing teen Brett Thomason.

The body was found along Riverbend Road near where the 19-year-old was reported missing several weeks ago.

Officials said the clothes on the body matched the description of what he was wearing when he disappeared after a boating trip with two friends.

There was initially a large-scale search for the teen, involving boats, helicopters and ground crews.

The body was taken to the GBI lab.
