Cleveland State Community College’s Continuing Education Department will be offering a four-week floral design course on Tuesday nights from Nov. 16 through Dec. 7 from 6-8 p.m.
This course provides a hands-on learning experience of essential floral industry fundamentals. The course offers a rare insight into the “behind the scenes” facet of retail and design in a creative learning atmosphere that utilizes key elements including design, mechanics, and retail.
The objective of the floral design class is to develop a better understanding of not only the key elements of design, but also the retail perspective including added sales, marketing, and product pricing.
By the end of the class, participants should be able to design a basic floral arrangement, tie a bow, and have a working knowledge of basic design elements.
The floral design course is being taught by Connie Isbill, who currently serves as the Floral Department Manager at Trees N Trends in Cleveland. Ms. Isbill has many years of experience as a floral designer and owned Trentham’s Florist in Niota from 1989-2004.
The cost for the course is $50. For more information about this course or other courses being offered this fall, contact the Department of Continuing Education at 473-2270 or email Barbara Werenko at bwerenko@clevelandstatecc.edu.
