With a little ingenuity and the right tools, the possibilities are infinite. Wall sculptures, toys, jewelry, handbags, clocks, lamps, and even musical instruments toys, can be fashioned to impress your pals. This class is an introduction to the basic tools and techniques used in tin can art.
Participants will take home a variety of projects from whistles and buttons to original metal works.
Start gathering cans, such as olive oil, popcorn and holiday-cookie tins, license plates, bottle caps and other found objects that might be incorporated into your work.

Ms. Rudolph has tinkered with tin cans and other painted tin objects to produce funky items, such as clocks, toys and musical instruments since 2002, some of which are included in the revised edition of Bobby Hansson’s Fine Art of the Tin Can. She honed her craft while she was the resident blacksmith at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Western North Carolina.
