A Westin hotel by Starwood Resorts is set to open at the former BlueCross BlueShield "Gold Building" at 801 Pine St.
According to the Westin website, it will open May 1, 2013.
The site says "details to be announced" and says it is "not bookable yet."
BlueCross vacated the building designed by famed architect John Portman when it opened a new campus on Cameron Hill.
BlueCross sold the Gold Building to local developers Ken and Byron DeFoor in December 2010.
Ken DeFoor is developing a lifestyle center near Hamilton Place Mall that will include an Embassy Suites.
The Gold Building has a similar open design to an Embassy Suites with elevators that look out on the building's interior and offices ringing the inside of the building.
It is called the Gold Building because of the gold-colored metallic exterior siding.
