Silverdale Baptist Academy Hosts Veterans Day Program On Monday

  • Tuesday, November 5, 2013

Silverdale Baptist Academy will host its second annual Veterans Day Program on Monday, at 8:30 a.m. All veterans are encouraged to attend this free event and can register online at www.silverdaleba.org/vetday.

This year’s Veterans Day program theme is ”Because of Your Courage: Remembering Our Heroes”.

Organizers said, "The schoolwide program will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Silverdale Baptist Church sanctuary and will be a beautiful time of honoring our veterans through student-led expressions of thanks. There will be patriotic music, art, and drama, all performed and led by our creative and talented students."

If you are a veteran or know of a veteran who would like to attend, please fill out a form on the website at www.silverdaleba.org/vetday.

Guests of honor this year are United States Army Specialist Andrew Smith and his wife, Tori. Mr. and Mrs. Smith have a powerful story to tell, as he lost both legs to an improvised explosive device (IED) while deployed to Afghanistan just last March. (www.teamandrewsmith.com)
