George McCutchins
Mr. George “Buddy” McCutchins, 90, of Summerville, Georgia, died on Saturday, February 15, 2014, at his residence.
Mr. McCutchins was born January 2, 1924, in Summerville, son of the late Smith and Grace Shropshire McCutchins. He was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church, and prior to his retirement, was employed with Mount Vernon Mills. Mr. McCutchins was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eula Mae London McCutchins; two grandchildren, Isaiah McCutchins and Trevor Montgomery; and a great-nephew, Don McCutchins.
Mr. McCutchins is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Roger and Lee London, Al Ray McCutchins, and Tracey McCutchins; daughters and son-in-law, Ann Montgomery, Mona Lisa McCutchins and Mike McGee, Vivian Wells, Anita McCutchins, and Anna McCutchins; a brother, Robert Liggins; a sister, Alean McCutchins; 36 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; special granddaughter, Candius McCutchins; special grandson-in-law, Parrish Perry; and a dear nephew, Frank McCutchins.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, at the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Evangelist Jennifer Belecher officiating. Burial will follow in the Allgood Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandsons and granddaughters. Honorary pallbearers will be friends and family.
Mr. McCutchins will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21.
