Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, with assistance from the Dunlap Police Department and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, have arrested a Soddy Daisy man in connection to a homicide early Wednesday morning.

At the request of 12th District Attorney General J. Michael Taylor, TBI special agents began investigating the death of Alvin Sandell shortly after officers from the Dunlap Police Department found the body of the 22-year-old in his McGlothen Lane home.

During the course of the investigation, agents developed information which led to John David Altenhoff as the individual responsible for Mr. Sandell’s death, the TBI said.

On Wednesday afternoon, agents arrested Altenhoff and charged him with one count of criminal homicide. The 34-year-old Soddy Daisy man was subsequently booked in the Sequatchie County Jail, where he was being held without bond.
