Barbara Holcomb
Barbara Lou Ramsey Holcomb, 79, of Chickamauga, Georgia, died on Saturday, February 21, 2015.
She was born in Ringgold, to the late Leon Murphy Ramsey and Jennie Lou Stephenson Ramsey. She had lived most of her life in Chickamauga, where she was a member of Mt. Herman Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, knitting and collecting all kinds of trinkets.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Lester Holcomb, Sr., grandsons: John Lawson Holcomb, Steven Edwards, Andy Edwards and brother: William Terrell Ramsey.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Mary Anita and Alton Aundre Edwards, Sr. of Chickamauga, Frances Lou and Donald C. Dye of Chickamauga, Freda Denise and James A. Perry of Fort Oglethorpe, Dr. Fred Lester Holcomb, Jr., and Sherry Holcomb of Church Hill, grandchildren and their spouses: Jennifer Perry, Tim Perry both of Rossville, James and Suzanne Edwards, Leslie Edwards all of Flintstone, Beth Dye Brown of Chickamauga, William "Billy" Fredrick and Melody Dye of LaFayette, Jonas and Paige Holcomb of Rossville, Stephanie and Robbie Taylor of Johnson City, TN, Alyssa, Noah and Josiah Holcomb all of Church Hill, TN, great-grandchildren: Dakota, Christa, Nicholas, Daxtin, Averie, Brayden and Madison Edwards, Autumn Perry, Baylee and Chandler Brown, Levi, Landon, Cadelyn, Dylan and Jaxon Taylor, Lillie Holcomb, Jacob and Annie Elizabeth Dye, great-great-grandson: Braylin Woods, sister and brother-in-law: Amelia and Don Shields, sister-in-law: Loretta Ramsey, several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 5–9 p.m., all day Tuesday, and Wednesday morning prior to the service.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25, in the chapel with Reverend Craig Westbrook and Pastor Paul Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park – Rossville.
