Mary Margaret “Boggy” Neal, 99, of Dalton, Georgia, died on Friday, July 29, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Margaret was born Aug. 26, 1916, in Ellijay, GA to the late Garrett Earl and Lula Agnes Smith Charles; and was also preceded in death by her husband, William Reece Neal; son, James Reece ”Jimmy” Neal; and sisters, Theda Louise Charles, Jean Charles Dunn and Martha Earline Lorberbaum.
She worked at her Father’s store, Charles Superette for several years. She loved to stay at home with her family and she loved to work crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her brother, Ted Howell Charles of Douglasville, GA; grandchildren, Charles Jason and Denise Neal of Dalton, GA, Mary Anne and Chris Hendricks of Tunnel Hill, GA, David and Tammy Neal of Dalton, GA and Reece Neal of Dalton, GA; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
At her request there will be no funeral services, and she will be laid to rest at Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens on Monday, Aug. 1.
