ESPN3 will be on Lee University’s campus Thursday evening to cover the men’s and women’s basketball games versus Union University. Admission to either game is free, and 1,000 T-shirts and 1,000 towels will be given away during the games to commemorate the evening.

The Lady Flames will tip off at 6 p.m. in the Paul Dana Walker Arena. The men will take the court at 8, also against Union.

Lee was awarded the 2016 NCAA Division II Award of Excellence, and as a result, ESPN3 broadcasts an evening of games.

“Division II’s broadcast agreement will continue to highlight Division II student-athletes and their accomplishments on a national stage,” said Terri Steeb Gronau, vice president of Division II. “This is an exciting opportunity for men’s and women’s basketball student-athletes to demonstrate that they are not only great students and members of their community, but that they are truly skilled athletes as well.”

Everyone is welcome to attend Thursday’s games, which are billed as white-out night, when Lee fans wear solid white in support of the home team.  According to George Starr, director of sports information at Lee and long-time radio announcer for Lee athletics, white-out night makes for an impressive visual effect and intensifies the rambunctious, sporting atmosphere in Walker Arena.
