Longtime Chattanooga resident Polly Chastain Sisson passed away at her home on November 11, 2017.

She is survived by her son, Blair Lamar Morgan and fiancée Diana Ponder, her parents, Paul and Sarah Sisson, her sister, Sandra Sisson Lowe (Thomas), as well as grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Other survivors include her aunt and uncle Willard and Sue Sisson of Chattanooga Valley, and nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Gertrude Sisson.

Born in Ringgold, in 1944, Polly moved to Chattanooga as a child and attended Chattanooga Public Schools.  She completed undergraduate and graduate school attaining an MA in 1992.  Polly was a dedicated RN, retiring in 2016 from MBMH. During her career she worked at Children's Hospital, Bradley County Hospital, and Parkridge Hospital. She will be missed by her many friends and colleagues in the medical community.

Polly was a member of the Tennessee Nurses Association and The Pilot Club of Chattanooga. Polly had been a runner, was a certified SCUBA diver, loved music, loved to travel, and was an avid reader. Polly's wit and great sense of humor delighted all who knew her. Polly was a faithful communicant of her church and served in various ministries, including the Flower Guild.

A Celebration of Life and Memorial Service will be held on at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18, at St. Thaddaeus Episcopal Church, 4300 Locksley Lane, in Murray Hills. Friends are invited to attend a reception at the Parish Hall at St. Thaddaeus Church at 1 p.m., before the service.  Immediately following the service, those attending may go to the adjacent church rose garden for committal of ashes.

In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to Ministries of St. Thaddaeus Church or to charities of their choice.
