Charles Anderson "C.A." Sneed, 84, of Vonore, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday morning, April 5, 2017 at Wood Presbyterian Nursing Home.
A native and lifelong resident of Monroe County, he was the son of the late Grady and Wilmeth Steele Sneed. C.A. was well known throughout the community for his love and commitment to our Lord and Savior and his talent of furniture restoration and wood crafting. He was employed at Fallon Furniture in San Jose, California, Don P. Smith Chair Company in Loudon, and the owner and operator of Sneed’s Furniture Shop in Madisonville and Henshaw’s Furniture Shop in Knoxville for many years. His handy-work appears in many local homes as well as the Monroe County Courthouse.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Velma Teeters and Joyce Russell; and an infant brother, Fred.
C.A. is survived by his wife Iris; son Zachary; five daughters, Patricia, Brenda, Gail, Andra and Jenny; three brothers, Vernon, George and Monroe Sneed; sisters, Lucile Baker and Anna Shastid; 12 grandchildren, Kelly, Travis, Shane, Mark, Adam, Jessica, Nathan, Charles, Cody, Kalen, Macy, and Alissa; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; five step-children, Juanita, Tammy, James, Jason and Jenny; and numerous step-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held @ 2 p.m., Friday, April 7, from the Hopewell Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Madisonville with Terry Cansler officiating.
There will be no formal visitation
Serenity Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Etowah is in charge of the arrangements.
