Thelma Mathis Moore, 69, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018, in a local hospital.

She was a graduate of Riverside High School class of 1966 and continued her education at a city college. She attended Silverdale Baptist Church. Thelma was an active member of the Red Hat Society and volunteered with Amedysis Hospice for 11 years. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Mathis, Sr.; mother, Mary Emma Butler; twin sister, Velma Mathis Hill.

Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Bobby “Cake Man” Moore; daughters, Yolanda Michelle Herkley of Chattanooga and Angelica René Moore of Antioch, Tn.; brother, Eugene (Shirley) Mathis, Jr. of Chattanooga; nephews, Marc (Kesha) Mathis, Eric (Danielle) Mathis both of Chattanooga, and Darryl (Kila) Hill of Lawrenceville, Ga.

Visitation is on Saturday, Aug. 18, from 7-8 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be on Sunday, Aug. 19, at 2 p.m. at Olivet Baptist Church with Pastor Ron L. King as the eulogist.  Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
