The Chattanooga Fire Department came to the aid of a family stranded on Williams Island on a rainy Saturday.

The parents and two children had planned to camp on the island near Baylor School. However, they decided to go home due to the weather.

The Fire Department was summoned and brought the family to shore.

It is believed the kayaks either were stolen or washed away.
