Bert Duffy Gallant
Bert Duffy Gallant, age 95, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at his residence.
He was the son of the late Carl B. and Katherine Duffy Gallant and was preceded in death by his two brothers, John B. Gallant and Gene A. Gallant.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Thomas Gallant; daughters and sons-in-law, Pat (Morrison) Hemphill of Auburn, Al., Connie (Dave) Ferguson of Harrison, Tn., Kathy (Steve) Hall of Cartersville, Krista (Zane) Reed of Dalton and Jodi Morris of Rocky Face; step-daughter, Buffy Nelson of Savannah; grandchildren, Mitzi Rogers, Andrea Hemphill, Zach Smith, Katie Reed Farmer, Amy Reed Howard, Reaves Coker and Morgan Coker; 10 great-grandchildren and two nieces.
Bert was a member of Grove Level Baptist Church. He was a veteran of WWII and was very proud of his service in the Navy. He had a love of flying and was a flight instructor in his younger days.
The funeral service to celebrate the life of Mr. Gallant will be held Friday, Nov. 22, at 4 p.m. in the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Dr. Charlie Bridges officiating. Burial will be in Grove Level Cemetery. Honorary pallbearer will be Zane Reed. Pallbearers will be Zach Smith, Reaves Coker, Dave Ferguson, Mark Farmer and Jonathan Howard.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, Nov. 22, from 2-4 p.m.
