Coy Sampson
Coy Sampson, age 76, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Memorial Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ann Lou Sampson; brothers, Ed and Lamar Sampson; and a sister, Barbara Hewitt.
Mr. Sampson was a family man and loved helping other people. He had a big heart and his greatest joy was his family.
He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Tina Sampson and Dave Wiley of Rocky Face, and Tammy and Chris Phifer of Cohutta; sons and daughter-in-law, Joseph Sampson of Dalton, and Shan and Kim Sampson of Ringgold; brother, Danny Sampson of Dalton; grandchildren, Kristy Kennedy, Levi (Kimber) Newby, Gavin (Molly) Sampson, Jerron Phifer, Brinley Sampson, and Walker Sampson; great grandchildren, McKayla, McKynli, and Jackson Bearden, and Reagan Sampson; special friends, Mike and Mary Cherry; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service will be held Monday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Mitch Mahoney officiating and other family members giving eulogies.
Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tim Sampson, Gavin Sampson, Jackson Bearden, Levi Newby, Jerron Phifer, Rodney Vice, and Andy Hewitt.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, Nov. 10, from 5-9 p.m.
