Siskin Hospital Staff Member Earns Certification

  • Thursday, December 5, 2019

Siskin Hospital announces that Amanda Cress, DPT, OCS, has satisfied the requirements for the mechanical diagnosis and therapy certification.

The McKenzie Institute awarded the credential, which is based on conservative treatments and assessment techniques for the spine and extremities, and requires four 4-day courses followed by a written exam, with a practical component to demonstrate competency in the practice.

Dr. Cress is a physical therapist in Siskin Hospital’s East Brainerd Outpatient Therapy clinic. She has 10 years of experience in therapy and is a board certified orthopedic specialist.

“This is an internationally-recognized credential,” said Dr. Kyle Binkley, East Brainerd clinic manager. With this achievement, he said, there are two practitioners at the East Brainerd clinic that use this assessment, diagnosis and treatment protocol, as he is also MDT certified.
