Dennis Day Terry, Sr., 65, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at his daughter’s residence in Marietta, Georgia. 

He was a graduate of Riverside High School and graduated from Bible College Gospel Ministry.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  Dennis retired from Tennessee Valley Authority.  He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, and former member of Pneuma Christian Center, and Miracle Missionary Baptist Church. 

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Corena Jones-Terry; brothers, William Talley and Orlando Terry. 

Survivors include his sons, Dennis (Deborah) Terry, Jr., Dennis Hayes-Terry, both of Chattanooga, and Derek Terry of Nashville; daughters, Lakesha (Wendell) Terry-Ashley of Marietta, Ga., Kanisha Terry of Nashville, Crystal Hildabrant of Davenport, Ia., Raquel Terry of Chattanooga, and Creation Terry of Rossville; 15 grandchildren; brothers, Thomas (Sandy) Terry, Jr, Gary Terry, both of Iowa, and Maurice (Alberta) Terry of Chattanooga; sisters, Cynthia Westfield of Iowa, Diane Talley, Loretta Howard, and Brenda Terry, all of Chattanooga; a host of aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; close friends, Charles Lane, Sam Watkins, Patricia Terry, and many others. 

Visitation is on Thursday, May 30, from 6-8 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. 

Funeral services will be on Friday, May 31, at 10 a.m. in the chapel with Pastor Richard Jones as the eulogist. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
