Billy Nelson Edge, Sr. of Ooltewah went home to his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 11, 2019.  He was 79.

Formerly of Dillion, SC, Billy was a proud US Navy veteran and worked as a telecommunications engineer at Chattanooga State Community College before retiring.  He loved to play cards with his friends and family and could frequently be found tinkering in his garage.  Billy was a member of Providence Baptist Church and his family rejoices in knowing they will see him again through the incredible gift of salvation in Jesus Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Edith Edge; brothers, Delmo Scott and Bobby Edge; twin sister, Betty Cashwell and sister, Junelle Walden. 

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Connie Edge; children, Rita (Don) Ziemer and Billy (Samra) Edge, Jr.; grandchildren, Lauren Ziemer, Kyle Edge, and Jasmine Edge; sister, Sue Oliver, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, at Providence Baptist Church, 8523 Providence Road, Ooltewah, Tn. 37363, with Reverend Rob Borders and Reverend John Jones officiating. Interment will follow at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 17, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Providence Baptist Church, Attn:  Mission Fund, 8523 Providence Road, Ooltewah, TN 37363.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
