Another piece of the Spartan Trifecta – the Spartan Super – is an 8+ mile course featuring nearly 30 obstacles. They held their latest race at Fort Carson as part of their Honor Series, which hosts Spartan racers alongside the military community. The Army base, which features challenging training terrain, hosted both the Sprint and Super races last weekend.

The Super featured classic obstacles like the rope climb, atlas carry, inverted wall, and barbed wire crawl, as well as newer designs like the “beater” a series of monkey bars where several sections move.
Maybe the hardest part came from the course layout, however, which made races climb in and out of the valley several times testing their endurance in the July heat.

To complete a Spartan Trifecta, racers must run a Sprint, Super, and Beast all in the same calendar year. At each race Spartans receive a race-specific medal along with a 1/3 piece of the Trifecta medal.

In October the Spartan Sprint and Super races will be held in Atlanta. You can find more information at spartan.com
