Elsie Euline Harris, 86, was called home on Wednesday, August 14,2019.

As her family has stated she is resting in the arms of her Savior. Her body made whole again and can only image the joy she felt when she met Jesus face to face.  Euline was born in Lafayette, Ga and after she married her late husband, Samuel Harris, they traveled the world while he was in the Navy.  In 1974, they left their home in San Diego, Ca., after her husband retired and they made their final home in Whitwell, Tn.

Euline was a pillar to her family, her friends and this community.  Her family stated “she got to accept the greatest reward of meeting her Savior, whom she has been so devoted to all of her life.  Her cherished treasure was her Bible.  It is said that a Bible that is falling apart belongs to someone with a well fed soul.  Euline’s Bible was the most worn out Bible you would ever see.  She was a woman of class and style her entire life.

Euline was a 30-year historian for the “Marion County for the Genealogical Society”.  She also was the Sunday School teacher for the “Open Door Class” for 16 years at First Baptist Church of Whitwell along with being the church librarian for 7 years.  She enjoyed oil painting in her spare time.

Those who preceded her in death are her husband, Samuel A. Harris; parents, Manual and Elsie Hewitt; brother, Gary Hewitt and sister, Betty Bradfield.

Those to cherish the beautiful memories are sons, Ryan Harris (Andrea) and Mark Harris; daughter, Kim Rose; brothers, Roby Hewitt and Larry Hewitt (Pam); brother in law, Richard Bradfield; grandchildren, Brianne Harmon (Chris), Jody Jeffery, Zachary Harris (Elspeth), Ethan Harris and Linnea Geller (Ryan); great-grandchildren, Corbin Smith and Callie Williams; host of special friends along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Aug. 16, from 4-8 p.m. CDT at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tn.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 17, at 1 p.m. CDT at First Baptist Church of Whitwell in Whitwell, Tn.

Elsie will be laid to rest at Red Hill Cemetery following the funeral service.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Tate Funeral Home, LLC, 950 Mel Dixon Lane, Jasper, Tn. 37347, 423 942-9500, tatefh.com.
