Ophelia Reid
Ophelia Elizabeth Oliphant Reid, 76, of Chattanooga, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at her residence.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Bertha Oliphant; brothers, Albert Oliphant, David Oliphant, and Gene Oliphant; sister, Cora Mathis.
Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Oliphant Johnson, Cel Reid, and Nel Reid; sisters, Ruth Oliphant, Sara Oliphant, and Alice (Willie) Curry; brother, Robert (Kathy) Oliphant; five grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, many nieces and nephews; four special children, Jesse Lewis, Tom Hunt, Susie LeRose, and Lillie Herkley; special friends, DeHavilland Elder, Willie McClendon, Ralph; a host of other family and friends.

She will lie in state on Sunday, Aug. 18, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at Greater Community Church of Chattanooga with Pastor J. Anthony Taylor as the eulogist.
Burial will be on Thursday, Aug. 22, in her hometown in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Edgefield, S.C.
