Stewart, Ruth A. (Benton)

Ruth A. Stewart, 83, a resident of Benton, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2019 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.  Granny loved to do puzzles and word searches.  As an avid lover of The Andy Griffith Show and N.C.I.S, she was most known for her love to cook and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mack and Lucy Wooten; daughter, Donna Lucille Banks; siblings, Luola Allen, Edna Riddle, Ruby Taylor, Geneva Cockburn, Ralph Wooten, Roy Wooten and Wallace Wooten.

Survivors include her loving children, Danny (Donna) Stewart, Lisa Green and Donald (Tina) Higdon; sisters, Reba Pack, Rhoda Cheatham and Maxine Stewart; grandchildren, Chandler Stewart, Angel Davis, Daniel Tyler Stewart, Steven Banks, Jennifer Shaw, Nathan Varnell and Anthony Higdon.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, with Pastor Jerry Herron officiating.  Interment will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 19 at Cumberland Shed Cemetery in Old Fort.

Her family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Higgins Funeral Home of Benton.
