William Pence
Rev. William Citico “W.C.” Pence Jr., 83, of LaFayette, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2019.
Rev. Pence served as pastor for 50 years and pastored the past 40 years at Community Baptist Church on Lee Mason Road.
He was preceded in death by his son, Mike Pence; and parents, William Pence Sr. and Susie Mohundro Pence.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Claudia Harris Pence; daughters, Angie (Junior) Carroll of Alabama, Tanya (Tim) Glenn of Trion, Mechele Pence of LaFayette, and Jessica (David) Parker of Kennesaw, Ga.; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sisters, Bertha (Billy) Gilbreath of Villanow and Margaret (Mitchell) Puryear of LaFayette; brother, Dover Pence of LaFayette; brother-in-law, Bud Harris; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 25, at Community Baptist Church with Reverend Billy Hampton and Reverend Melvin Frazier officiating.
Interment will be at the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are Kenneth Wilbanks, Logan Frazier, Jerry Wallin, Hugh McKissick, James Lunsford, and Allen Harris.
Honorary pallbearers are the church members.
Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
