Hamilton County Schools have announced that the Tyner at Howard football game has been postponed due to the massive water main break affecting parts of Hamilton County. It has not been decided when the game will be played.
Earlier it was reported that the Hayesville (NC) at Lookout Valley football game had been canceled due to the major water main break in Chattanooga.
The report said that the Hayesville team needed an early status update to prepare for travel to the game with the Yellowjackets, and decided to cancel due to a concrete status not being available at the time.
The following local contests will be played as scheduled::
Baylor at Central
Cleveland at Soddy Daisy
Red Bank at East Hamilton
Friendship Christian at Grace
Sequatchie Co. at Hixson
Stellar Prep (CA) at McCallie
McMinn Co. at Ooltewah
Signal Mountain at Whitwell
South Pittsburg at Marion Co.
McMinn Central at Polk Co.
Bledsoe Co. at Grundy Co.
According to the earlier report from the Department of Education, “The schools are taking extra steps as a precaution by bringing in portable bathroom options and bottled water. These games are subject to change if water situations change at the stadiums.”
The school district will provide updates as they are available this afternoon.
