Susan Marie Phillips, 76, of Ooltewah, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2019. 

A native of Somerset, Ohio, she has been a resident of Oak Ridge, Tn. and Cincinnati, Ohio before moving to Ooltewah nine years ago.  She was a member of Ooltewah United Methodist Church where she enjoyed her Women’s Bible Study Group.  She also enjoyed being a volunteer with Hospice and volunteering with her grandchildren’s school.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gail Thomas Phillips.

Survivors include her son, Joseph (Carol) Phillips, Bristow, Va.; daughter Sally (Todd) Trent, Ooltewah; and three grandchildren, Camryn Phillips, Molly Trent and JT Trent.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at  lls.org

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at the Ooltewah United Methodist Church with the Reverend Dwight Kilbourne officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. on Tuesday at the church before the service.

Arrangements are by the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, Valley View Chapel, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
