Hunting Guide Correction Made Regarding Bear Hunting Season Dates At North Cherokee National Forest

  • Monday, September 30, 2019

The 2019-2020 Tennessee Hunting and Trapping Guide contains incorrect dates regarding an upcoming bear hunt on the North Cherokee National Forest.

Page 76 incorrectly lists the North Cherokee as closed to bear hunting from Sept. 28-Oct. 11.  However, it will be open for the upcoming hunt Oct. 5-7 in Bear Hunt Zone 1, which consists of Carter, Cocke (North of I-40), Greene, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi and Washington Counties.

For more information about black bear hunting in Tennessee, refer to page 40 of the 2019-2020 Tennessee Hunting and Trapping Guide.
