Meeting Being Scheduled for New Chattanooga Police Review Panel; Former Policeman Mincy Will Not Serve

  • Tuesday, January 14, 2020

The new Police Review Committee is about ready to begin holding meetings.

Officials said eight of the members have completed the requirement of going through the Police Academy. Two have not finished the academy and another has not done the required ride-along.

City Council Vice Chairman Chip Henderson said his appointee, Rick Mincy, has advised him he will not be serving on the panel. Vice Chairman Henderson said he is looking for a replacement.

There was some dissension earlier on the Mincy appointment because he is a former Chattanooga Police officer.
