Mother, Son Found Guilty In 2017 Double Murder In Polk County

A mother and son have been found guilty in a double murder in Polk County in 2017.

Ahren Presley  was found guilty by a jury on Friday of four counts of felony murder, two counts of especially aggravated robbery, two counts of theft, and conspiracy to commit robbery and theft.

Valrie Hart pleaded guilty to the same charges while the jury was deliberating.

They will be sentenced later for the slayings of Larry Jeffries, 53, and Jeremy Walker, 27.

They were found dead at their home in Old Fort, Tn., on March 3, 2017.

The bodies were discovered by the brother of Jeffries several days later.

District Attorney Steve Crump said, "This case resulted from the outstanding work of TBI Special Agent Keith Herron and Polk County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Brian Fields and Det. Kevin Cole. Sheriff Steve Ross and his department did excellent work. Assistant District Attorneys Shari Tayloe and Clayton Collins did an outstanding job in seeking justice in this case."
