Anna Cox
Anna Joyce Cox, 91, of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020, in a local health care facility.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Cleveland. Anna was retired from Duracell. She was a talented seamstress and basket weaver; she and her husband built most of the furniture in their home. Anna and her husband Richard had a very loving and devoted marriage for 70 years. They loved their family dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Wilma Hall; husband of 70 years, Richard Cox; sister, Thelma Gates and husband Dewey; and brother-in-law, J.D. Cooke.
Survivors include her children, Charlotte Murray and Mary Lou Richardson and her husband Larry, all of Cleveland; grandchildren, Rebecca “Becky” Isom and husband, Jimmy, Bob Murray and wife, Lisa, Dan Murray and wife Alison, Sara Richardson, and Justin Richardson; great-grandchildren, Rachael Isom Butler and husband, John of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Morgan Key and husband, Max of Johnson City, TN, Jake Murray, and Ashton Murray; sister, Helen Cooke of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19, with Pastor Tom Wickes officiating.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Brookdale Assisted living facility on Mount Vernon Drive for the last 6 years of love and care they gave Mrs. Cox or as they lovingly called her, “Granny”. They also want to thank Hospice of Caris Healthcare.
