Retired CNA Was Known As Compassionate Caregiver

Carol M. Coffey, 84 of Hixson, a native of Burlington, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on November 17, 2020, at her residence surrounded by her family and loved ones. 

Carol was of the Christian faith. 

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Thelma George, brothers Daniel and Charles George and her oldest son, James Brooks.

She is survived by her siblings, James (Barb) George, Jerry (Nancy) George, Sue Shipman, Karen (Eric) Hedin and children, John (Heather) Brooks of Reno, Sherry (Wayne) Parris of Hixson, and Linda (Rodney) Fuller of Reno; grandchildren, Joshua Brooks, Angela Brooks, Holly Vierra, John Brooks Jr., Harley Brooks, Cash Brooks, Paisley Brooks, Jesse Davis, Jody Davis, Savannah Parris, Dylan Fuller and Gracie Fuller, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Carol was a retired CNA. She was known as a compassionate caregiver for friends and family members in need. She was a dedicated caregiver to Anna Dowell for 40 years. Her hobbies included sewing, crafting, ceramics, furniture refinishing and shopping.

Carol was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.  She will be missed dearly by all.

The family would like to thank the staff of Kindred Hospice for all their excellent care and compassion for our mother.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 21, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A service will be following at 1 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.

It is requested that face mask be worn and that all Hamilton County and the CDC’s mandate be followed.
