Nancy J. Hester, 91, of Chattanooga, peacefully transitioned from this earthly home on Saturday, February 8, 2020, surrounded by her family.  

 

She retired from Dupont in 1989 with 25 years of service. She was also employed with the Second Chance Boutique for over a decade. Nancy was a faithful Christian. Her membership was at the church of Christ that meets at 2003 East Third Street, which dates back to the 1950s.  

 

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Benjamin R. Hester.  

 

Those blessed with her legacy are her son, Tommy (Patina) Hester of Rex, Ga., and daughter, Sharon (Johnny) Winston of Ooltewah; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.  

 

Visitation is on Thursday, Feb. 13, at 10 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.  

 

Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Brother Dennis B. Gamble officiating, and Brother John R. Taylor, Sr. as the eulogist.  

 

Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
