The Cold Case Unit in the District Attorney's Office, with the help of the FBI, is reopening the case two decades ago in which a 10-year-old East Lake boy was smothered to death.

The DA's Office said the FBI will be sending a team next week to help in the probe.

Prior to that, the office plans to release on its Facebook page four videos that were produced by the FBI relating to the mysterious death of Joshua Walden.

The DA's Office plans to hold a news conference on Monday morning "in which we will provide more details on what we are doing."

It was Dec.
8, 2000, when Joshua rode off on his bicycle and was not seen alive again.

The family searched for him that night, and the next day his brother located the body at East Lake Park. He first spotted a bare foot poking out of a pile of leaves.

He had marks and scratches on his nose and the right side of his face.

The killer had poured muriatic acid on his body.

Joshua's shoes and bike were never found. The family said he was proud of his shoes and did not like to take them off - even at night.
