Gloria Dean Carter, 87, of Red Bank, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 26, 2020. 

 

Gloria was born in Bridgeport, Al., to the late Otie and Agnes Carter on January 3, 1933.

 

She was preceded in death by her brother, James Edward Carter.

 

She is survived by brother, Jerry R. Carter; sister-in-law, Lillie Mae Carter; nieces: Terri (Mark) Kitchen; Karen Carter and Gracie (Adam) Knudtson; honorary niece, Melissa Burnett; great nieces: Kaleigh Kitchen, MaKenna Knudtson and Wrigley Knudtson.

 

Gloria spent her working career in service to the public with the United States Department of State, National Aeronautics and Space Administration and the Department of Housing and Urban Development.  Gloria also worked with the George Washington University Medical Center as a nurse recruiter and as a housing specialist for the Chattanooga Housing Authority. Gloria was a long-time member of Highland Park Baptist Church where she belonged to the Grace Bible Class. A special thanks to the staff of PACE and Ascension Health of Mountain Creek Road and Signal Mountain.

 

Visitation will be held (population mandated) on Sunday, March 29, from 2-4 p.m. at Lane Funeral Home. 

 

A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 30, (Population mandated) in the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home which will be live-streamed by visiting: https://www.oneroomstreaming.com/view/authorise.php?k=158526918654492

 

A private interment will be held at Forest Hills Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, Gloria would appreciate memorials be made to her favorite charity: Samaritan’s Purse, Samaritan’s Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607 (samaritanspurse.org).
