Ruth L. Lawson
Ruth L. Lawson, age 89, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2020, in a local health care facility.
She was the daughter of the late Walter L. and Winnie Spikes Duggar and was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Lawson; sisters, Mamie Holcomb, Henrietta Key, Esther Wagar, Zella Green and Juanita Grenz; and brother, Leo Duggar.
Ruth was a long-standing and faithful member of the Church of God of Prophecy where she taught Children’s Church and played the piano. Ruth, being legally blind, loved to quilt and growing vegetables in her garden along with preserving and canning her harvest.
She is survived by daughter, Sandy Harris and her husband Deputy Jamie Harris; son, Randy Lawson and his wife Regina; and grandchildren, Emily and Evan Lawson, Ashley Boles, Justice and Hartley Harris. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews that she loved as her brothers and sisters.
A Remembrance of Life Service will be held Sunday, May 24, at 1 p.m. at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee St. Chapel with Rev. Londa Richardson officiating. The interment will follow at Union Road Church of God of Prophecy, 533 Union Grove Road, Charleston TN., 37310, with family and friends serving as casket bearers.
The family will receive friends Sunday, May 24, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the funeral home.
