Hewitt Office Turner, 84, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2020 in a local hospital. 

He was a 1957 graduate of Hill High School in LaFayette, Ga.  He was an airborne ranger in the U.S. Army.  Hewitt retired from Goodyear formerly Firestone.  He joined Marble Top Baptist Church at an early age.

Hewitt was preceded in death by his son, Alfonzo Wilson; daughter, Donna Wilson; parents, Willie and Addie Turner; brothers, Robert Turner and J.T. Turner; and sisters, Rose Montgomery, Bessie Upshaw and Janie Jackson. 

Survivors include his children, Mark Briddell of Rosedale, Md., Earlene Dupree of Chattanooga, Robert Wilson of Vista, Ca., Natalie Wilson, Barbara (Eric) Phillips, Anthony (Tomassia) Turner, Sharon Turner, Yolanda Turner, and Kentrell Turner, all of Chattanooga; mother of the children, Daisy Wilson of Chattanooga; brothers, William (Joyce) Turner of Yorktown, Va. and Willie (Peggie) Turner of Atlanta, Ga.; sisters, Carolyn Mathis, Blanche Turner, both of Chickamauga, Ga., and Minnie Turner of Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga.; sister-in-law, Christine Turner of Chattanooga; and a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. 

He will lie in state on Saturday, June 27, from 1-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. The graveside service will be Sunday, June 28, at 1 p.m. in Garmany Cemetery in Chickamauga, Ga. with Dr. Reverend Donald White as the eulogist.
