Christopher D. Horton, 45, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2020, in Chattanooga.

He was born on May 27, 1975, to Samuel Horton, Sr., and Colleena Bonner Horton, who preceded him in death.

Christopher attended Howard High School.

Christopher leaves to cherish his memories, daughter, Shemirakel Horton; five grandsons, Jesiah Bowser, Justus Bowser, Mikhail Bowser, Melvin Bowser, III., and Jemayne Williams, Jr.; granddaughter, Reign Williams; four brothers, Samuel Horton, Jr., Darius Horton, Jonathan Green, and Aivery Nalley; five sisters, Lavonda Horton, Shauna Pierce, Faith Green, Salathiel Nalley, and Bellen Brock; a host of nieces, nephews, and a close friend, Candle Baker.

A public viewing will be held 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Monday, July 20, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.

A private service will be held.

Hamilton County Virus Cases Increase By 53; Tennessee Only Has 2 More Deaths

The number of new COVID-19 cases in Hamilton County on Saturday is 53. The new total is 9,241. There have been no more deaths, said the county Health Department, for a total of 91.
