Carlene Thomas Hicks, 78, of Ringgold, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020.

She was born on Feb. 24, 1942, to the late Carl and Cleo Crawford Thomas. She was a member of East Ridge Presbyterian Church and volunteered with Memorial Hospital Gift Shop. She was a precious woman who was a blessing to all who knew her. Carlene loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She truly lived Proverbs 31 and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years Bert Leonard Hicks.

Survivors include her daughters, Elizabeth Hicks (John) Burk, of Rome, Ga., Rebecca Hicks (David) Parham, of East Ridge; brother in law, Franklin (Sandra) Hicks; and sister in law, Carolyn Hicks Mills; grandchildren, Julie Burk Crenshaw, Amy Burk Forkner, Valerie Joy Alexander-Burk and Megan Victoria Parham; four great-grandchildren; and four nephews.

Family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday at Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.

The family will be having private funeral services. Interment will be at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
