Frank Usher
Frank Oliver Usher, Sr., 78, of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020, in a local hospital.
He was a graduate of Howard High School. He retired as a surgical technician from Atlanta Medical Hospital. Frank was a member of First Iconium Baptist Church in Atlanta, where he sang in the choir.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Mary Usher and Emma Usher; father, Rodger Usher, Sr.; mother, Ada Usher Redmond; brothers, Rodger Usher, Jr., William Usher, and Willie Usher.
Survivors include his son, Frank Usher, Jr; daughter, Anntanella Usher; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Reverend Pozie (Evelyn) Redmond, Jr., all of Chattanooga; sister, Annie Usher White of Atlanta; cousin, Eugene Usher of Elizabeth, NJ; best friend, Billy Owens of Chicago; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He will lie in state on Saturday, July 11, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home with the family service to follow at 12 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Samuel R. Jackson as the eulogist.
Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
